An Olympics Rio we already miss dearly…
For those who were here in August during the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro saw a city we always dreamed of. Safe, clean, lively, full of interesting people from several states in Brazil and from all over the world. There were several places with outdoor activities created by countries and Olympic confederations scattered in various parts of the city where usually they are not explored. There were many changes and improvements in sports clubs, museums, and restaurants throughout the city of Rio.
In the center of Rio, at Praça Quinze and Praça Mauá (where one of the most beautiful museums is located , the “Museum of Tomorrow”) was a real playground for all ages. The city placed a huge stage for live concerts and giant screens to show the Olympic Games. Boats and big ships docked at the harbor gave a very special touch to this beautiful area by the sea.
Throughout the boulevard, there were many food trucks and kiosques selling Brazilian Skoll beer and coca-cola (big Olympic sponsors) which made the area friendly and fun for families and people of all ages.
Also located at Praça Mauá is the house of Brazil, the house of NBA, the house of Coca-Cola, a Nike store and even a booth from Nissan displaying cars and with bungee jumping . These were spread thru the old port´s warehouses, all mounted with lots of creativity and care. Below are some pictures of one of the exhibits of the Brazil house that I found very interesting. All sports modalities and several sights of the city of Rio represented in paintings and sculptures made with food items such as pasta, bread and biscuit.

Here is a picture of the Olympic pyre, first time exposed in a second place with the purpose to stay close to the public. It was placed in the heart of the city, right in front of the most famous Rio de Janeiro church called Candelaria. Breathtaking.
