After having a wonderful breakfast at the executive lounge of our hotel the Hilton Midtown, we started the day walking through Soho. One of my favorite neighborhoods where years ago I worked for a few months, back when I did my internship at Loews Cineplex Entertainment; as a saleswoman at the JOSEPH UK store. I have a special affection for this neighborhood, it´s just so pleasant!
This store “& other stories” caught my attention from the outside. I loved the written words on the windows, advertising what you can find inside, from accessories, beauty products, jewelry, clothes, and shoes etc. And also the fact that they do collaborations, such as this one with Rodarte from Kate and Laura Mullcary. Collaborations between labels and artist are always fresh and interesting.
I got fascinated with the store´s layout and style, almost like a “warehouse” mixed with an artist studio. The clothing racks and display tables are all movable with little wheels in the legs, very practical for changing places all the time, which apparently is one of their characteristics. Switching merchanding displays is a very effective sales strategy.
I found so many cute things, some accessories, such as this cell phone cover, very unique. The clothes are so darling and charming, as this lip sweater. Nothing too expensive, this sweater was US $ 159. They also have body creams, candles, lipsticks, a little bit of everything.
I already have an obsession for mannequins, and as you can see in the photo below, even naked, the mannequins looked amazing decorating a little corner of the store. Loved it
